Hello everybody! What a busy week this has been! Aside from prepping for Easter fun, my family has been busy with all kinds of things. My husband has been working on fixing up his truck, running around filling out paperwork for immigration, snow removal, giving quotes to clients, hauling and of course enjoying playing with our adorable girl! There have been lots of events going on in this week alone as well.
My grandfather was invited to teach a Passover celebration at church, and spent weeks preparing for it. We were all excited about it, (I grew up watching him teach the Passover, so he really knew his stuff) and we spread the word. Cassie got to enjoy her very first Passover this year, and my husband, Paul, was also impressed by it. It may be a Jewish tradition, but my family has always believed that there are valuable things we can learn from the Jews. I was surprised by how much Cassie enjoyed everything, she was on her very best behavior, and she actually really enjoyed the mazza. Considering that it’s meant to be dry and tastless, that surprised me quite a bit.
One of our friends had a birthday party for their little girl, and they combined it with an Easter egg hunt for all of the kids. Cassie had fun, though she was certainly a bit too young to understand. She found one egg and was happily shaking it and babbling about it for the rest of the party. I look forward to her excitement at finding out what is inside the egg when she’s a bit bigger. Though I will probably have to make homemade sweets so that they’re still healthy and delicious.
It is so refreshing to have spring in the air now. I love the snow, but it has been too much snow for too long. I’m ready for the fresh air and the sunshine. Cassie enjoys park days, (like I did when I was young, she absolutely loves the swings) and is always so happy when we go. I find her love of grass and woodchips rather amusing as well.
Because of the warm weather and the thawing snow, we’ve been able to get back into our walks and enjoy the time together more. Cassie also got to wear her pretty Easter dress for church, and it was more than warm enough for it. Now that it’s safe to go out, I’m trying to set up more play dates for Cassie, especially now that she’s finally gotten over most of her shyness, and is happily playing with other kids. I had been starting to wonder if she was just never going to enjoy playing with other people. But she now is happy to see other babies or toddlers that are about her size.
With her birthday coming up too, (at the end of this month) we’re busy planning her very first birthday party! That’ll be fun for her! I think she’ll have a lot of fun with it, we’re going to keep it small, but at a park with some of her little friends, so she’ll have a birthday play day.
So things have been pretty busy lately, as you can see. But we are very blessed, and I’m thankful for everything that we have been given. Next week I’ll write a post about how to make and use sourdough as well as all of the benefits to it. So look out for the next blog post, and I will see you guys next time!
