Today we’re going to talk about some of the most powerful foods that you can consume for the most nutritious benefit. And I don’t just mean that I’ll be saying that you should be eating more produce and eating less sugar. No. Today, we’re going to talk about what are classified as “Superfoods.” You’ll probably recognize most of these, and I think you’ll be impressed at many of the benefits you’ll find. I would be amazed if after reading this post, you didn’t start trying to take more of these superfoods into your diet more regularly. I know I do!
List of Superfoods:
Maca increases sex drive, boosts your energy, helps with erectile disfunction for men, helps with menopausal anxiety, and helps with hot flashes.
Ginger is good for nausea, motion sickness, and morning sickness. It is used for digestive problems, heart disease and stroke, helps with ulcers, diabetes, arthritis, menstrual cramps, colds and flu, and osteoarthritis.
Turmeric is used for immune enhancement, food poisoning, is an antioxidant, is used for cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, boost cognitive function, help with depression, help with cataracts, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, liver damage, ulcerative colitis, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, psoriasis, and scabies. I personally recommend adding black pepper to turmeric, because that really activates the turmeric to maximize the medicinal benefit by over one thousand percent!
Apples are beneficial for your brain and body health. They have been shown to lower body weight, lower cholesterol, improve mood, and heart health.
Avocados contain many important nutrients. B vitamins, Vitamin E, healthy fat, protein, and fiber. They prevent and lower sugar cravings, aid in lowering your stress levels, keep you feeling full longer and fill you up faster, and reduce inflammation.
Sweet potatoes are good if you have a sweet tooth, and are very filling. They are filled with Vitamin A and C, and are really good sources of fiber. They also have antioxidants, and Vitamin B6.
Broccoli is full of calcium, chlorophyll, Vitamin C, and contains some protein.
Wild Rice has antioxidants, fiber, protein, magnesium, and B vitamins.
Romaine Lettuce is full of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Omega 3 fatty acids, potassium, and magnesium. It isn’t as bitter as some other bitter greens, but just enough that you can get the benefit from it.
Almonds are great sources of protein, fiber, zinc, iron, B vitamins, and magnesium.
Dark, leafy greens contain high amounts of chlorophyll, Vitamin A, C, and K, along with magnesium, fiber, iron, and potassium. Greens like spinach, kale, chard, arugula, beet greens, collards, and mustard greens are all really good.
Green beans are high in Vitamin C, contain a good source of protein and fiber, and they’re easy to digest.
Carrots are full of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, antioxidants, and are good for your eyes as well.
Coconut is an amazing source of essential fatty acids. Coconut is anti-microbial, natural hormone boosting, and promotes weight loss.
Hemp seeds are high in fiber, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin E, magnesium, and are easy to add to things.
Celery is full of Vitamin K, lowers blood pressure, aiding in digestion, and is good for weight loss.
Flax and Chia seeds are full of Omega 3 fatty acids, fill you up quickly, and are extremely high in fiber.
Oats are high in protein, have iron, magnesium, B vitamins, zinc and potassium.
Oranges are high in Vitamin C, B vitamins, and are full of fiber. They help remove cholesterol, aid the digestive system, and boost mood and mental outlook.
I know you’ll like this one! Cacoa is extremely high in antioxidants, helps with sugar cravings, improves mood, contains hormone boosting properties and is full of iron and fiber even in a small serving. Cacoa is also extremely powerful for women, and causes the brain to release endorphines, which cheer you up.
Squash, like pumpkin, butternut squash, or other types of squash are full of antioxidants, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, potassium, and lower your blood pressure. They also benefit blood sugar.
Berries are high in antioxidants, good for brain health, eye health, digestive health, a good source of fiber, a good source of a wide variety of vitamins, and are beneficial in more ways than you can imagine. Try to have berries every day. You will see your health improve.
And there is a list of superfoods that you can add into your diet, and why they work so well. Most of them are familiar items that you see a lot of in the grocery store, or that you possibly already consume. But they all have different benefits that can help you with boosting your immune system, burning fat, maxinizing energy, and helping you to improve sleep and fitness levels.
